Our rights as cigar smokers are gradually being stripped away. There are organizations out there allegedly fighting the legislation that prevents us from enjoying the simple pleasure of smoking a cigar, but I'm not sure that their efforts are worth the cost of membership. We're already being taxed to death to fund SCHIP, and now Congress wants to raises taxes by as much as three dollars on a single cigar! Other pending legislation in some states and municipalities wants to limit sales of cigars to box purchases only because they might be used for illicit purposes. New York has now banned flavored cigars, CAO, Havana Honeys and Drew Estate's ACID will most likely be included in the ban). In the UK and Canada, tobacconists now have to hide their stock! Also in Canada, you can be fined for smoking cigars in your truck! A new just law passed there banned sales of single cigars and flavored cigars nationwide! Show your solidarity by wearing this tee-shirt. Let the people in Washington know you won't stand still and let them vote in another tax or prohibit our right to smoke cigars! Caveat: I make no assertions that revenue generated from the sales of my merchandise will go to "fighting the cause." Frankly, only a grass-roots movement from the average individual will really affect change.
